Olox beasts

Olox are large herbivorous beasts that inhabit the great Tundra, alongside various other migratory fauna. They have rich dark meat which is eaten by the Vogrody in blood sausage and stews, and large sturdy bone structures. They are docile by nature, but can be stirred into a stampede-like charge. 

They were domesticated by the Vogrodi ancestors as a means of traveling through deep snow in winter, and for their capacity to bare heavy loads of burden on their backs. This has permitted their use for accessing the northern wastes of Ledzem, in such occasions where necessary. 

Duke Istvan IV employed a company of Olox riders to great effect in the campaigns in the northern Tagyr Steppe, before he was defeated in the great Battle of the Kuul River by a host of Tagyr horse-archers, Great Elephants, and dire camels.
